LEGAL ASSISTANCE
The National Plan to prevent and
combat trafficking in Human Beings provides the strategic purposes for
2005-2006 in the field of preventing and combating trafficking in human beings,
by establishing the responsible structures for their implementation.
The Centre for Preventing Trafficking
in Women is one of the responsible structures to accomplish the objective 3.3.
(c): To ensure that all trafficked persons have been informed about their
rights. For accomplishing this objective, it is required to fulfill the
following actions:
- to grant legal counseling services;
- to develop and to offer to victims
informative materials
Following one of the projects
main objectives – ensuring the access to justice for the victims of human
trafficking – the CPTW lawyers offer free legal counseling services to victims
and potential victims of human trafficking, represent and defend the victims
within criminal cases, civil lawsuits, administrative cases during the whole
period of the proceedings, starting from filing the complain till the moment of
entering into force of the sentences or decisions.
Services offered by CPTW lawyers:
- Legal counseling through telephone line
and at the office;
- Collecting and sending intelligence to law
enforcement;
- Legal assistance in identifying and
repatriating the victims of trafficking, that have disappeared;
- Assisting the victims in documentation
process;
- Representing the victims in criminal cases
and civil lawsuits.
