AWARENESS RAISING
The Project Centre for Prevention
of Trafficking in Children financed by the World Childhood Foundation, Sweden and the Danish Ministry of
Foreign Affairs.
The
most important tool in preventing trafficking in human beings is information.
The thought that «this might not happen to me» is completely wrong, because the
danger of trafficking is real and should be reagarded seriously.
Information
and education campaigns, that represent activities of the preventive program,
aim to inform target groups, such as teenagers, socially vulnerable persons,
persons who decided to work abroad, persons who work in education institutions about
the risks of trafficking in human beings, the recruiting methods used by
traffickers, the profile of traffickers and methods of protection.
The
education campaign for teenagers, who are the most vulnerable group, exposed to
the risk of trafficking is organized in schools, lyceums, universities from theRepublic of Moldova, especially in rural localities. In order to
implement this program, CPTW has trained more than 100 volunteers, from the
majority of rayons of Moldova. Under the aegis of CPTW, the
volunteers organize «peer to peer» seminars called «Preventing Trafficking in
Human Beings ».
